Sabotage - Low Grade Germans vs. Soviet Rifle Platoon

I mis-red the set-up and hid the defenders and set up long ways on instead of short, so we added on extras three turns, put the Russians on and hid the Germans!

Low Grade Germans (infirm), with attached paras and a panzer ace in a Stugg vs. a standard Soviet platoon with a T-85. The Germans are trying to take out a Soviet radio antenna.

The Germans advance.

Crossing the railway line, there should be a rule for tanks losing tracks on railway lines!

The Germans start to occupy the building in the town ready to push on and storm the farm.

Soviet defenders wait for the Germans

The Germans advance to the edge of the woods and pour fire onto the Soviets

However the Soviets force a German section to fall back

The T-85 comes out of hiding to pour fire into the German HQ, meanwhile the Soviet sniper shoots and kills the German medic.

Fire is pouring into the German HQ which is foolishly the most forward unit

A long range tank dual, the Soviets miss but the Germans damage the T-85s tracks
The supporting understrength German para section jogs up the road

The Stugg forces a bail out!

The Paras storm into the farm and wipe out the remnants of a Soviet section and all but the loader of a HMG team, despite taking a lot of hits on the way in from inside the farm house and the bunker

A Soviet counter attack however wipes out the German paras taking one of them prisoner

The radio antenna is still standing as the Germans withdraw!

[BKCII] Russian Attack - January 1945

The Soviets are trying to capture a German command bunker on top of a hill.

Soviet airpower

The mechanized infantry arrive, but where the hell are the Soviet tanks?

The Germans launch an immediate counter attack and head into town

German armour in the industrial district.

The Germans keep pushing into town

Soviet flanking forces hit the German rear, flame tanks and combat engineers make short work of the Germans.

The flankers continue to push into the German forces.

Waiting to get stuck in.

The Soviet tanks arrive and then promptly stop. Someones going to get purged.

Soviet mortars stand around ideally.

The Soviet infantry battalion encounter the Germans in the town.

Visibility is an issue but bullets and foul language fly!

The Germans are starting to get the measure of the Soviet flankers, a bout of friendly fire from a Soviet bomber doesn't help.

The Soviet armour makes another small move before it stops again.

The infantry gets to grip with each other.

The Germans pass a break test.
Bombing raid inflicts no casualties.
The tanks are still moving very slowly.
The last of the flankers make a break for the command bunker and get shot up.

Both sides are suffering.
The Germans stay in the fight.

The German arty manages to inflict a lot of casualties on the armour including the tank riders.

The a command blunder makes matter worse.
Objective in sight comrade!

The jadgpanzer 4s make their presence felt.

At the crossroads.
A blunder propels the Soviet scouts into combat, which they manage to win.

No quit in the Germans.

The Soviet armour moves forward and engages the Germans.

In the infantry battle the Germans are gaining the upper hand with there possession of the upper floors.

The Germans are clingging onto their command bunker.

Both sides pass their break test.
A charge by the pioneers takes the command bunker for the motherland!

Support begins to arrive for the Soviets.

Things look bleak for the last of the German armour.

Both sides pass their break tests!

The bomber moves on and takes out a German Jadgpanzer 4!

Soviet SMG troops head into town but its too late as the at the start of turn 10 both sides fail their break tests, however the Russians had control of the objective.
